You don’t have to go to a dealership to have your dash lights diagnosed. We can perform a diagnostic check on your car using the latest Snap-on diagnostic software which can read the majority of fault codes stored in a modern vehicles memory system.
ECU fault code reading
Sensors in your vehicle report to the ECU (Engine Control Unit) on how they are performing. If a problem occurs, it logs a fault code. A diagnostic code reader has to be used to read the fault and to clear any fault codes from the memory.
We can investigate the following faults:
- Engine management
- Fuel systems
- Electronic diesel control systems
- Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) re-generations
Vehicle diagnostic investigation
Our diagnostic investigation includes a code read of the fault codes stored in the vehicle’s ECU and 1 hour of our trained technician’s time to investigate the error code/components further. Whilst the ECU code read will provide information about the vehicle fault it will not tell us what is wrong with it outright. It is a starting to point to investigate and establish what has gone wrong.
We will carry out 1 hours diagnostic investigation and then call you to discuss your vehicle’s faults. If further time or tests are required we will discuss this with you before continuing. Please be aware the majority of faults are diagnosed within 2 hours, however some more complex faults can take longer.
Having the correct diagnostic equipment and technical training on fault diagnosis is vital for identifying the correct cause of issues and preventing further costly component failures.
